Bad news for fans of David Fincher's darker work: It seems his next project was going to be an adaptation of a graphic novel called "Torso," but The Hollywood Reporter reports that Paramount let the rights slip for one reason or another. "Torso" follows Eliot Ness as he tracks down a killer dubbed 'The Torso Killer.' I would have been really excited to see this. Se7en has to be one of the most masterfully artistic serial killer films of all time and I would much like to see Fincher's take on this. Supposedly, a script has been written by Ehren Kruger, but until Paramount ponies up, the project will remain in the development stages only.

Now here is something interesting: Bill Hader just revealed that Comedy Guru, Judd Apatow encouraged him to write a screenplay for a 'Slasher Film.' An odd turn don't you think? This would indeed be intriguing and from the way Hader is describing it, I can't wait to see how this develops.

The completely unnecessary remake of the Friday the 13th movie has a few new TV spots up. I would like to say that I agree with the sentiments of the blogger at Filmdrunk.com; I am sick and tired of Michael Bay's production company remaking all these classic horror films. What is going to happen when they run out of movies to remake? Remake the remakes? Anyway, follow the link to check them out.

Bloody-Disgusting.com has some news regarding Scream 4. Normally I would not be excited about such a thing, but if the early reports are to be believed, original writer Kevin Williamson and original director Wes Craven may in fact return to head this film. While I do not have too much faith in this project, that news, if true, gives me a little hope. Scream revitalized the horror film industry
with its cunning satire of the genre; could Craven and Williamson do the same thing here? Time will tell.

Also on Bloody Disgusting, there are reports that Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay's evil company, will be launching another classic horror franchise. This time it is A Nightmare on Elm Street, still in the early stages of scriptwriting and I have to say that I am pretty livid about this. THIS MADNESS MUST STOP!!!!!
